The photograph is 30cm by 20cm. It is a photograph of one of a series of installations depicting handmade leather ‘baby bags’ in family portrait scenarios.
Connected by an undercurrent of projected desires and disregard for the child as individual, each image in the family portrait series comments on a different set of beliefs and definitions of fulfillment and success. In this image ‘war torn’, the viewer is faced with the legacy of war. Issues raised deal with the disconnected family, the child soldier, and the cycle of frustration, loss and violence.
